Dyed Silk Hankies
Silk hankies are silk fibers harvested from the silk cocoon and look incredible trapped into the surface of felt projects! The are also great for spinning on both a spinning wheel and drop spindle.

I hand dyed them in variegated colors and I have provided a
color chart of the colors available. When ordering you can expect to get the colors shown in the color chart but please understand that the color pattern created by the dyes and the shade of the hankies do vary somewhat from lot to lot.
If you have never used silk hankies go to the Handling Silk Hankies (pdf) for more information.
Pricing
$7.00 per ounce undyed.
$7.00 per half ounce dyed.
How many individual silk hankies are in a half ounce package?
It is hard to say but the scarf project listed below used a little less that one package and it has hankies across the entire back of the scarf along with hankie designs on the front.

I do not have shopping carts or a secure site to accept credit cards online at this time.
You may email your order to spinsterstreadle@hotmail.com with your complete shipping address and the credit card number with expiration date. For security purposes it is suggested that you send the credit card number in several emails. Please include a phone number as well.
You may also call me at 509 520-5460 with your order and I can take your credit card information at that time. I don't have any staff besides myself and sometimes life interferes with business. So if I don't answer the phone I assure you that I will get back to you quickly, usually within the hour.
If I am available on the weekend I will take your order and ship it. But I do reserve the right to take the weekend off and return your calls and/or handle your order on Monday. I do post any anticipated holidays and vacations on the home page of this website when they occur.
Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have regarding the products I sell. I will do my best to help. I am primarily a traditional wet felt artist but I also do some needle felting and handspinning.
Shipping Information
I have found that the US Post Office (USPS) usually gives me the best rates and I charge you exactly what the box costs to ship plus delivery confirmation ($0.65 - $0.75). For this reason I can usually only give you an estimate of shipping costs at the time of your order. The invoice enclosed with your shipment will include the total charged to your card. I will ship your order the same day if possible or by the next day at the latest.
I live in Washington State and ship parcel (ground) so you can expect your order to take about 3 days to arrive if you are in the surrounding states, about 5-6 days to the midwest and southern states such as Texas, Arizona and southern California. Transit time to the mid-Atlantic states is about 6-7 days and expect 7-9 days if you live in the northeast.
I can also ship your package priority mail for a transit time of 2-3 days for about $5 - $10 additional dollars. However, if your package is over 12 x 12 x 12 inches and you live outside the pacific northwest (and a few other surrounding states) there will be a balloon charge that can be as much as $20 additional dollars. Basically, if your order is going to need to take up more than one cubic foot of space on an airplane to get to you in 2-3 days it's going to cost you a lot! Also keep in mind that, while they do usually get the package to it's destination on time, the US Post Office does not guarantee the 2 -3 day time frame with priority shipments.
So, if you have a large order to place, need it by a specific time, and want to ship it economically (parcel) please be sure to give me enough time to package the order and two weeks for it to get to you!
