Lori Flood Felted Fibers
Festivals
If you have never been to a fiber festivals you must go! Typically they are family oriented events that emphasize education about fiber animals and fiber crafts with music and food as well. There are always plenty of fibers and they are great places to get raw wool, prepared wool, yarn, locks, etc. and typically have all the things a felter, spinner, weaver, and all around fiber enthusiast would want. Usually there will be equipment that you can try out and if you are a beginner there are often kits you can purchase to get started! It's also a great way to make connections with fiber artist that teach their craft and many times classes are offered at the festival. Most fiber festivals also showcase the livestock (sheep, llama, alpaca, rabbits and other animals) that provide the fibers for our crafts. Some will even have sheep dog trials, shearing, and other animal demo's which make them a great place for the kids too!
Join me at the following festivals. I will have a vendor booth and would love to meet you!
